PostSubject: Grimm''s pasta question   Thu May 21, 2009 4:47 pm

Hey I got a good mac n cheese with no easy mac or crap but what can I use for cheese? so far I'm stuck with velveeta but I'm now adding sharp cheddar. what would go well with this? and I also heard a rumor that adding sugar to the boiling pasta adds a nice twist to it. Is that actually a viable idea?

Sugar? Um... I have never heard nor tried that.

A simple variation I would do is brown some ground beef with (make life easy - taco mix seasoning) and stir that in and bake for 20 mins. Or veggies, dice up some veggies and sautay in a pan, mix, bake and serve.

weelllll i currently boil up noodles then brown ground meat while adding galic powder, onion powder, a touch of cheyanne powder, some cumin, salt and pepper. then i mix that and the velveeta and cheedar in to melt and mix together along with butter and milk. then i let it set a few minutes. its quick and easy im just looking for more additive to improve mainly cheese. with veggies i usually add a mix of peas carrots and greenbeans to it. the buy in a bag frozen prepped veggies at the store that are frozen. or i use the california blend which i think is broccoli, cauliflower, and carots. *i think* haven't cooked in a little while and haven't added veggies in even longer because everyone up here is so goddamn picky on the veggie's they'll even consider eat let alone enjoy
